Hi! I'm Carol, aka "Rou-Rou 媃媃" !
because "媃" is the last charater of my Traditional Chinese name 😉
I use she/her.
I currently provide telehealth services to BIPOC & AAPI adults aged from 18 to 68 in New York State, helping them cultivate inner peace and resilience.
Clients partner with me to activey address stressors from being overstimulated, struggling with imposter syndrome and self-doubt, social isolation and loneliness, sense of inadequacy and insecurity, to fundamentally healing and thriving from trauma... and MORE!
My Experiences
You might be feeling overwhelmed, stressed, scared, sad, and lost – feelings I know well from my own experiences. You may also understand the weight of unhelpful thoughts and the difficulty of finding inner peace. I can Relate.
I remember feeling engulfed, submerged by emotions that felt like a powerful torrent, unable to find a calm channel. However, my desire to create a safe and supportive space for myself, where I could explore and share my feelings without judgment, led me on a journey of self-discovery. I learned to navigate these inner currents, much like water finding its way through the landscape, embracing the fluidity of emotions and allowing them to happen naturally. These profound experiences, though challenging, consequently led me to this profession.
Throughout my career as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients across various settings. I have helped myself, and specialized in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and many life challenges. Each of these experiences has deepened my understanding of the complexities of human beings and reinforced my commitment to providing compassionate, effective care tailored to each individual’s needs.

To this end, Our goals may include assisting you in gaining new perspectives and fostering a sense of Optimism and hopefulness. We may collaboratively Observe and Organize your thoughts and feelings, Overcome barriers and unhelpful habits, and align your goals and actions with your personal values.
By cultivating a sense of Openness and Objectivity, we can explore how past experiences have influenced your present life and future outlook, identifying Opportunities for growth and psychological flexibility. We may also expand and develop useful skills and strategies to Orient your occupational and personal relationships with greater confidence and ease. This journey will also involve tapping into your inner strength and resilience, much like the enduring power of water.
My Approaches
My approach is grounded in a deep Understanding of the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, and is influenced by the Taoist philosophy of “be like water”. Recognizing that humans are composed of approximately 60% water, we can draw parallels between our own inner selves and the fluidity of this essential element.
I believe in supporting you, Unbiased and Unconditionally, in finding your own Unique course in life, like water finds its way through anything, adapting and moving seamlessly. Just as many streams converge to form the ocean, a multitude of thoughts contribute to the tapestry of the mind. We will also explore the conscious and Unconscious factors that may be impacting your feelings, beliefs, values, and behaviors, helping you to develop a sense of Unity within self and cultivate an adaptive sense of self.
I have honed my skills in evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), among others. These tools, like water, can be adapted to navigate various challenges and find new directions, Utilizing the strengths that each individual possesses.
Through our work together, we will strive to Uplift your spirit, much like the rising tide, and Ultimately empower you to live a more fulfilling and authentic life!
